Installation of polymeric sand is a 2 step process, First, cleaning of the hardscape surface and joints between using pressure washing. This creates space for new sand by removing moss, mildew, mold, dirt & previously installed sand that is not stable.
Next, we install PolySweep Polymeric Sand, a blend of native sands and polymer binders. Once activated it allows the joints to expand and contract with the elements such as extreme heat/cold and freeze/thaw cycles. Specially formulated with Clear Set Technology which uses the highest quality, clearest synthetic polymers, it will not discolor the surface or leave behind a haze or surface residue. Polysweep is recommended for joints up to 3/4”, 1” is acceptable where pavers intersect.
Polysweep prevents sand erosion from the joints caused by rain and water run-off, deters weed growth and insect infestation. Polymeric sand installation reduces overall maintenance by preventing moisture penetration between the hardscape joints. It is designed to expand and contract during freeze/thaw cycles and remain flexible to resist cracking.
